Organizations: The Management Dashboard
What is an Organization?
Organizations allow you to give customers, teams, or other groups of learners their own managed area within your learning platform.
Each Organization can have one or more Owners who can manage learners and monitor their learning without needing access to the CMS.
The exact options available to an Organization Owner can be configured for your platform.
The Management Dashboard
Organization Owners access a dedicated management area where they can manage their Organization and its learners.
Depending on your platform configuration, this can include:
- Adding, inviting and managing learners
- Organizing learners into Sub-Groups
- Enrolling learners onto available Learning Paths
- Viewing learner progress and reporting
- Creating Learning Paths from Courses made available to their Organization
Some of these options may be restricted or managed automatically depending on how your platform has been configured.
Sub-Groups
Organizations can contain Sub-Groups to help divide learners by team, department, location, role, or another useful structure.
Sub-Groups primarily provide a way to organize learners and delegate management permissions. A manager can be given responsibility for a Sub-Group without needing access to the entire parent Organization.
Learning Paths
Learning Paths allow multiple Courses to be combined into a single learning journey.
Where enabled, Organization Owners can create Learning Paths using the Courses that have already been made available to their Organization.
Learning Paths can be configured with freeform or linear progression, and can award a certificate when the full Learning Path is completed.
The Learning Path functionality available to Organization Owners may vary depending on how your platform has been configured.
Reporting
Organization Owners can view the progress of learners they are responsible for from the management area.
This provides visibility into learning activity and progress without giving the Organization Owner access to learners outside their Organization or Sub-Group.
For broader platform-wide analytics and reporting, administrators can use the reporting tools available through the CMS.
