Glossary
Admin
A user with CMS access who can manage content, users, and settings.
Certificate
A digital record of achievement automatically awarded when a learner completes a course, if enabled.
CMS
Acronym: Content Management System
The admin interface used to create and manage content, built on Strapi.
Cohort
A group of learners who share access to the same courses or learning paths.
Cohort Dashboard
The front-end interface where Cohort Owners manage members and view learner progress.
Cohort Member
A learner who belongs to a cohort and gains access to the cohort’s available courses and learning paths.
Cohort Owner
A user who manages a cohort from the front end. Owners can invite members and view reports but do not have CMS access.
Comment
A public message left on a module, often used for discussions or feedback. Visibility may be global or limited to a cohort, depending on configuration.
Course
A collection of modules that make up a structured learning experience.
Course Enrollment
A record linking a learner to a course, tracking their overall progress and completion.
Course Library
A learner-facing area where available courses can be browsed and enrolled in, if enabled for the instance.
Course Progress
The calculated percentage of completed modules in a course.
Curriculum
The ordered list of modules that make up a course’s structure.
Learning Path
A higher-level collection of courses grouped into a single structured journey. Also known as a Bundle, Collection, or Group.
Lesson
A module type used to deliver learning content such as video, text, and file downloads.
LMS
Acronym: Learning Management System
The learner-facing part of the platform where users take courses, complete activities, and track their progress.
Member Limit (Seats)
The maximum number of learners that can belong to a cohort. Each accepted member uses one seat.
Module
A learning unit within a course. Common module types include lessons, quizzes, surveys, webinars, and SCORM packages.
Module Enrollment
A record linking a learner to a specific module within a course.
Note
A private message or reminder created by a learner within a module. Notes are visible only to the learner who created them.
Notification
An automated email triggered by specific events such as enrollment, new user registration, or cohort invitation.
Progression Control
A setting that determines whether a module counts toward course completion.
Progression Type
A setting that determines if the order of modules is enforced or not. Linear means learning has to be done in the set order, while freeform means the learner can navigate freely.
SCORM
Acronym: Sharable Content Object Reference Model
A standard format for creating and delivering e-learning content from third-party authoring tools.
Soft Deletion
When an enrollment or record is removed from active use but not permanently deleted, preventing duplicate records.
Student Report Card
A detailed view showing an individual learner’s progress and results within their cohort.
Survey
A module type used to collect learner feedback or responses.
User
A person with an LMS account. This includes both learners and cohort owners.
Webinar
A module type representing a live or recorded seminar.
